I held three focus group Dessert Tasting Evenings this week, Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday nights. 28 people tasted my desserts over three nights. I had a mixture of old favourites and some of my own recipes. I had two questionaires for people to complete - one before the tasting to find out what they thought of the idea of each dessert, and one to rate each dessert after tasting. After completing my Chef's Diploma at Ashburton Cookery School last September, I returned to NZ to live after 7 years in the UK. It seemed like the perfect time for a career change, so I have given up IT Consultancy and am currently working on my businss plan for Dessert Island! No prizes for guessing what I'm planning to make and sell!
I plan to start small, using the local Farmers Market as a test market, then when I feel that I have the right product offering I will target…
